Promises made, promises broken
That was my song
Only song that I knew
I never kept one
My heart was not open
No but now, you see me new

                                                        – Debbie Gibson

This year I had many ups and downs. I had a lot of downs. Promises I made to myself and promises other people made to me, seemed to be lying shattered on the floor. Not one of them truly being kept. That was my song, what everyone saw had happened in me. I had gone through the worst breakup, I didn’t get into the degree of my dreams, I didn’t have the strength to achieve the goals I had promised myself I would.

God was good. He was faithful. It took my a while to realise that even though I couldn’t see it happening. He was working in every promise that was lost, to make it come true. And I write this at the end of one of the heartbreaking years of my life and say that I achieved everything I wanted to this year. I am surrounded by people who truly love me, ones that I lost sight of for some years, but God gave them back to me this year. Even thought I lost what I thought was a love that would last, I found one that doesn’t leave my side, one that supports me and one that only keeps promises it knows it can keep. I got into the degree of my dreams, and I really don’t know how I did it. I do know that it wasn’t anything that I did. It was because of a Man who never breaks His promises

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

                                                                                                       – Isaiah 9:6-7

In the Old testament God promises that He will send a baby, that will save the world from it’s sins. That is what happened this Christmas, this is the promise that was fulfilled. It may have taken 700 years, but the promise was fulfilled. The promises in your life and in my life will be fulfilled too. Some immediately, some in a few weeks, few months, we might not even get to see with our own eyes what God has promised us. But we can keep trusting in Him and putting our Faith in Him and know with a sure confidence that HE WILL KEEP HIS PROMISES, NO MATTER WHAT.

Just remember that this Christmas, you never know, you might just experience a Christmas Miracle

Stay Blessed,

Sarah 💜
